Several transport and logistics companies in Aabenraa Municipality received visits from a group of young students this week, aiming to boost their motivation to pursue a career in the transport industry in our area.

The occasion is Transport Week, where a total of 120 students from EUC Syd, IBC in Aabenraa, and 10th grade students from Aabenraa visit 11 different transport and logistics companies in Aabenraa Municipality. The goal of these visits is to give the students firsthand insight into the many exciting job opportunities that the industry offers and to showcase the various functions and roles within the companies.

Strong collaboration to secure the future workforce in the transport industry

The event is organized by Padborg Transport Center with support from the FDE Foundation. Jesper Schimann Hansen, Director of Padborg Transport Center, is pleased with the support from both schools and companies. Attracting more young people to the industry is essential to ensure that companies can continue to meet their future needs for qualified employees, according to the director.

“Transport Week is not only an educational event for the young people, but also an important part of a broader effort to strengthen the image of the transport industry and support the recruitment of the future workforce,” says Jesper Schimann Hansen.
