Padborg will soon have one of the country’s first large charging stations for trucks, aimed at making it easier for drivers to charge their vehicles along the route through Europe. This initiative is part of the green transition in the transport sector, which seeks to reduce CO2 emissions by shifting from diesel to electric. The charging station will be located near one of Northern Europe’s largest transport and logistics centers, Padborg Transport Center, which is visited by thousands of trucks every day.

Important transportation hub

Padborg is currently an important center for transport and diesel refueling. Around 3,000 trucks visit the city daily, while 6,600 trucks cross the border in Southern Jutland. Additionally, approximately 150 million liters of diesel are refueled in the area annually. The initiative is therefore welcomed by Jesper Schimann Hansen, Director of Padborg Transport Center. “A lot of diesel is refueled in Padborg today, and we are pleased that in the near future we will also be able to offer electricity as a solution for all the visiting trucks in Padborg,” says Jesper Schimann Hansen.
