Aabenraa Port cements its position as a key player in sustainable transport and logistics with the announcement that cleantech company Kvasir Technologies is establishing its first commercial biofuel production facility at the port. Aabenraa Port shared the news in a press release on Tuesday.
The new facility will produce sustainable fuels capable of replacing fossil alternatives without requiring changes to the existing transport and logistics infrastructure. This makes it particularly appealing to companies aiming to participate in the green transition without compromising their operations.
The location at Aabenraa Port, close to both the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe, ensures efficient distribution of biofuels. Additionally, the former coal storage area will be transformed into a modern bulk terminal, further strengthening the port’s role as a sustainable logistics hub in the region.
The project is not only a win for the green transition but also for the local business community, as it is expected to create up to 50 new jobs.
