Together with Futurum, Artha Jordbank recently purchased 87,476 square metres of commercial land in Padborg. Artha Jordbank was established in 2022 as the first Danish land bank, and the Padborg purchase is the company’s first.
Artha Jordbank purchased the site from Aabenraa Municipality, and the plan is to turn it into a warehouse and distribution centre for a future leaseholder or owner in need of a strategic location right next to the E45. Artha Jordbank has permission to build a 43,738-square metre warehouse with direct access to the motorway and the rest of Europe.
“We purchased the land because of the increasing demand for modern, energy-friendly, DGNB-certified warehouses and logistics facilities. The next step is to find an end user and an end investor – a process we are about to launch,” says Sales Manager at Futurum Morten Ib in connection with the purchase.
Managing Director of Artha Jordbank Jan Severin Sølbæk is happy to see the company make its first purchase. In connection with its establishment, Artha Jordbank saw a lot of interest from investors and managed to raise DKK 80 million.
“We have been interested in a series of sites, which we for several reasons have been unable to purchase or agree with the owner on, so it is a great feeling to have finalised the first purchase in Artha Jordbank. We have more attractive sites in our pipeline, and we hope this will be the first of several purchases and the beginning of a portfolio of attractive development sites,” says Jan Severin Sølbæk and outlines the idea and strategy behind the land bank:
“We plan to invest in land that can be turned into building sites. The idea is basically that you can achieve a higher return on investment by owning the land from the start – before district plans and planning permission processes begin.”
